BANGKOK: -- The Department of Special Investigation have been contacted in connection with evidence that more professors may be teaching in Thailand with fake degrees.

The DSI has probed the World Peace University in the past on charges of offering honorary degrees to Thais for money, reported Sanook.

Now online evidence has come to light that the practice may be continuing.

Sanook.com reported that a professor at a Northern university became suspicious after a colleague claimed to have got his Phd from Southampton University in the UK.

This was the real professor's own university. A background check revealed there was no such person named in the university's records.

Sanook said that there were possibly ten other connected cases without giving details.

The DSI have been asked earlier this month to look into the case.

A number of posters on Thaivisa, claiming to be real teachers, have referred to themselves as "Professors".  I wonder if they will be keeping a low profile on this thread?

How can they when you're anonymous?  It wouldn't be that difficult for you to contact them though, would it?

I bought my degree certificate a few years back, not been a problem like.  Good at my job, so no harm done training people.
