McThai sets billion-baht budget for 20-25 restaurants this year

The first McDonald’s restaurant of 2017 was opened on Tuesday at the 1st Avenue Zhulian community mall in Bang Bua Thong. Two new stores will be opened this month.

Hester Chew, executive chairman and chief executive officer of McThai, said the new outlets would be in Greater Bangkok and major cities upcountry. “Half of them will be drive-through stores,” he said yesterday.

it's a pity this isn't an individual franchise business.

I hope Jomtien finally gets its McDonalds

Well, I'm not lovin' it!

The scurge of American 'junk food' which has been proven to be bad for your health.

I must admit if I was the PM, all of these places would be closed. The next generation of Thais are becoming westernern lard-<deleted> in their size.

Good news for the 'extra large' garment manufacturers.

They can't speak a word english in the Thai MacD, what a shame!

I often wonder if Macca's outlets have to pay monthly "insurance" to you know who; or do they have special exemption.

Never mind Thailand junk food, you should see the obesity figures blow up in the

The US where most households are eating junk food on a daily bases....

Well i hope they improve the service of the staff,i went in one in Bangkok, and stood at the counter for a few minutes, the staff saw me,but where to busy having 'sanuk' down the back of the kitchen, finally i called out,and they took my order as usual no fries where ready, the bun on the burger was stale and dry,the fries finally arrived when my burger was finished, there were 2/3 other customers in the store,it was around 11am.Compare this to the Philippines,i went into a jam packed store,i sat down and the girl i was with ordered the food ,i thought we were in for a long wait, but no 2 mins later she was back with everything. To be honest of all the maccas i have been in around the wold the Thai ones are the worst .

I see the big Angus burgers are appearing in the Pattaya McDs now. Cue a generation of larger Thais unfortunately.

Perhaps they should be taught to eat it in moderation. Surely a burger a week isn't going to make anyone obese. I was brought up to have a balanced diet. Lot of nonsense about nothing.

I agree, and the worst of the worst are the Mac's and KFC in Chinatown...boy are they stupid there and slooooowwwww.

Lately i won't even go to the Mac or any other american fastfood joint cause the personell is soo very uneducated and dumb that i get a bad mood from them....have to order 5 times and they still don't know what i want.

Also i have to wait for long before something is ready....no fun...Mac donalds should be ashamed for having such a lousy service in Thailand.

I don't understand why macthai has to sell ricedishes. It's much extra work for the staff and the customers bring it back to the counter often i noticed. Also they need cutlery with it, which is extra work.

I wished Taco Bell came to Thailand....or a good doner kebab shop.

Guess jomtien beach road soon will have one

Hey Thaiwrath do you know of any I need some new shirts and pants.

Last time I went to the McDs in Chiang Rai, for my occasional fix of western fast food, they had run out of burgers. At 6pm on a Friday!
