30 day extension question

Featured Replies

Im here on a 60 day visa which expires end of march. Im going to apply for 30 day extension. My question is the 30 day extension effective from the day you apply or is it 30 days from the last day on the original 60 day visa. For ex if my visa has a date of 3/30 but i apply for the 30 day extension on 3/5...will the extension be from 3/5 or 3/30

Thanks

You are extending your current stay,  the 30 days will start at the end of the current stay regardless of the date you apply for it.

There's also no reason why it would be otherwise. Say you've been granted a stay until the first of April, why would your extension depend on the date you apply for it? Enjoy a highly reasonable process, courtesy of Immigration Department in your area.

If your current permit expires on March 30th day 1 of the 30 day extension would be March 31st, regardless of how early you apply.

Most offices will accept applications within the last couple of weeks. You might not be able to apply on March 5th.
