Thong Pha Phum national park closes for safety reason

KANCHANABURI: -- Thong Pha Phum national park has ordered the temporary closure of the park for safety reasons.

The closure has nothing to do with a video clip capturing a tourist falling off the Khao Chang Phuak cliff in the park and the clip went viral on the Internet.

The park chief said the national park will be closing off from February 1 onwards.

He said the closure was necessary as the dry season is fast approaching and the dry hot weather could result in wild fires breaking out in the area and could pose safety concern for visitors during this period.

It has nothing in connection with the accident posted in the Internet.

Meanwhile a clip that was posted online showing a girl, identified as Suphatra Polbun, a 26 year tourist who is a native of Sangklaburi district, falling off the cliff has shocked many viewers.

She slipped and fell off the Khao Chang Phuak cliff face located in the Thong Pha Phum National Park in Kanchanaburi province.

The video footage was captured by a student from Thonburi Phra Chom Klao Technical College and posted on her Chichaya Facebook.

Try Sam roi Yot visitor  centre, they have a  boardwalk thru the mangroves which is  more like an Indiana Jones death walk, so many broken missing and rotten planks its  a  nightmare............actually its a ferking disgrace but that dont worry anyone there

What happened with faller? I visited that ridge 2 times and one can fall quite steep if unlucky.... it's near that old minevillage on burmese border. Beautiful setting though which rarely sees farlangs.

Do I hear the echo of slamming barn doors to the fading sounds of hooves?

The fall.
