The best excuse he could come op with was the old ' I borrowed money from friend '

which is right up the with ' I won the lottery/casino '

When you run around with a 20 millions baht car in BKK, you should know that

it will get tongues wagging and eye bulging with envy and whispers of ' I wonder

where he got the money for it '  type of gossip.....

Especially in a 3rd World country.

Don't Threaten, just do it.

Grow some balls RTP.

dunno about connected for long, would not surprise me to see him connected to a lump of lead in the not to distant future

The story will fade just as soon as it gets close to someone with real hiso connections; at that time priorities will change and the focus will revert to the real crims...like the penniless seniors who got 35 years for picking a few edible mushrooms in a national park. Hiso Bangkok elite not shaking in their (Prada) boots just yet.

....which actually means that I can't prove where the money came from, which mean it probably wasn't made from the mundane world of legit business or old fashion honest work and savings.
The people are on the right track.  Either prove where the money came from of forfeit the car.  I've little sympathy for the super-rich and narcissistic especially in countries where corruption is the rule instead of the exception.

Or put that another way:  'but I'm special;  laws, morality, answering authorities and honesty not applicable to me'.

'Mummy please help me.'

The law is in place to charge those who have recieved funds or assets which were funded via illegal activity, I think the father of the 3 mentioned above, as getting away with murder, spent several years in  cold country waiting on the statue of limitation to expire on  a charge.

If the powers that be want to help the public they would  demand tax records and sources of those on taxpayer paid salary who have declared several 100 million baht in assets.

Confiscate it if he can't say his name three times real fast.

I think it comes out as Kitcar  Wondertech.

the son of a former thai politician being questioned about possible illegal activities?   dad must have been a red shirt, me thinks.

Very hard to quantify.. Some of todays hyper hatches A45/RS3/Focus RS are quicker than a classic Lambo Muira or Ferrari GTO.. But the Lambo and the Ferrari are supercars the hatchbacks aren't even though they have "supercar performance"

Honda's original NSX is though of as a supercar, Not so sure about the GTR.

I usually see it referred to in car mags as " budget supercar or supercar killer"

Guess it's a bit like pornography.. "Hard to define, but you know it when you see it"

Amusing that, in a very "Thai" sort of way, the origin of the word is ignored.

The original "Supercar":

So what does the Galardo do to earn the title ?

It´s all about the price tag. If I have a 20 million Bath car, then I can finally be someone. The functions, quality, looks and speed are all irrelevant.

Yes, let's get the politicians back in  power as soon as possible and restore democracy. Thailand is not functioning under military rule. Politicans care more about the people.  Hooray!

Sorry. For a lot of TV readers, please insert an apostrophe in the word "politicians"

Why does it need an apostrophe ?  Am I missing something very subtle ?

And how did you just quote my post????

Cuchulainn was pointing out that the word politicians is the plural for all those at the government trough, so to speak.

However add an apostrophe to the word as in politician's and refer to a certain popular and famous TRT PTT character it becomes quite clear as to whom he was referring.

Another conspiracy theorist ? The World out to get you ? Do you post stuff about the Rothschilds on facebook ?

The dude in question  "Nattapon Nakkam" is in police custody. If you don't believe Thailands number two English language daily I suggest you call the police station and ask the cops.

To stop all the worry of conspiracy and corruption, get the car and put it in a crusher----- a square metre ornament to put on the front lawn

Reminds me of the scene in American Gangster when Frank Lucas wore a stunning fur coat and caught the attention of the cops.

Its every criminal's bane, to show off too much.

A crushed Lamborghini as a lawn ornament, that's sure to a tractor tension:smile:

Super-cars are a rich man's folly. Especially true in Thailand where one will set you back 3 times the UK price.

That version of the Skyline is definitely a supercar no matter which way you slice it. The average Godzilla isn't though they are bloody fast but the GTR 35 is in a class of its own

Last I heard, a supercar achieves a 10lbs per HP ratio.

Borrowed 6 mil, nice to have friends who just happen to have that amount of

liquidity, NO interest to speak of, just a true mate helping out.

the world is wonderful,
