4 diferent types of gun permit?? differences??

Featured Replies

I have been Reading several thai law webs and I have understood than currently there are 4 different types of gun permits

1.self defense

2.protection of property

3.sports

4.hunting

I have also readed than farangs whit permanent residency or married whit thai ladie can apply for one of this permits and I want to ask to another farangs wich one of them is more suitable for us  because I m doubting between number 1 or number 2 what is the opinión of the members of fórum and wich one of them is more easy to obtain thanks

What you have stated are the 4 categories under which you may apply for a firearm. You don't get a different license for each category.

As a foreigner you will probably only get a license as a permanent resident unless you are part of an exceptional category.

Being married to a Thai is not enough to get a license in your name. Your (Thai) wife wouldn't have too many problems though.

you won't get a permit.

Never say never..if for instance you know  a high ranking cop and knock around with him a bit and maybe buy him a new service weapon, make a little contribution to the policemans welfare fund, you would be surprised what you can accomplish  and what may be obtained ;)  of course I am not speaking from personal experience and in no way would I condone this sort of behavior, its just plain wrong
