Police destroyed more than 25,000 marijuana plants in Takeo province’s Kirivong district on Wednesday and say they are searching for another illegal plantation. Deputy district police chief Yang Dara told Khmer Times yesterday that the marijuana was found growing in 73 different locations in two villages in Preah Bat Choan Chum commune.
 

A total of 25,409 plants were burned at the scene after being yanked out of the ground, according to Mr. Dara. “We cut and pulled them out and then burned them at the scene, but we didn’t arrest anyone because the villagers didn’t tell us who the marijuana farm belongs to,” he said.
 

“We are investigating to arrest the brokers and the owners of the farm.” Mr. Dara said that an undercover agent investigated to find the location of the marijuana plants by pretending to be hunting for honey or wildlife.

What a waste. They could have invited me to stand downwind

and what income will the poor villagers have now?

thats one hell of a crop ,probly employed most of the village.

Must have been an interesting day for those villagers downwind from the burning.
