CHAI NAT: -- As more primary schoolgirls step forward to say they were victims of alleged molestation by teacher Anupan Kuijard, Ban Kluay Municipality School director Kasamaporn Buapiban said yesterday that the accused has been suspended from civil service by the Muang Chai Nat Municipality to make way for investigation.

Another source reported that this case could involve at least 24 young victims.

Kasamaporn, who is part of the fact-finding committee, said they were working on the case and had interviewed some students and parents. She also vowed to ensure justice and proceed with disciplinary action against the 41-year-old so he is not allowed to teach at this or any other school if found guilty. She said the school would also go ahead with revoking his teaching licence later.

And jail time please?

...quietly forgiven and back at it as a terrorist to children in the rural villages of Thailand.

"...that the accused has been suspended from civil service by the Muang Chai Nat Municipality to make way for investigation."

Does this mean that members on active duty in the civil service are immune from criminal investigations? If so, I now understand why hardly any officials go to jail in this country.

We hope so, but if he's smart he'll say he was drunk and therefore it couldn't be his fault

Or had a real urge which he had no control over - case dismissed.

He saw one of his students dancing on FB, couldn't control his self

and don't forget they are going to revoke his license "later"

if he was in prison,he would not be able too.

“She said the school would also go ahead with revoking his teaching licence later.”

But she did not indicate in which Lifetime "Later" referred to.

Chances are there will be a payoff to the families and the charges will disappear. Thus saving face for all involved. TIT

They bang up a foreigner at the first hint of child molestation....but a Thai teacher, with an enormous responsibility toward the well being of school children, gets a suspension and then has the luxury of waiting for a "fact finding" committee to make a decision .....!

The system here is completely broken!

Maybe they're going to wait for him to be found guilty of an offence first.

Indeed, you would think that the teaching profession in Thailand would want to protect its reputation by quickly and strongly distancing itself from the accused but no, a stronger priority is in play. That is that teachers must be protected from accusations and more importantly immune from punishment, oversight or criminal charges. The priority seems to be only the internal educational hierarchy can censure teachers in any way and that any external body, be that parents, the police, the media, should be repelled.

I find this prioritising of political power over the protection of young children from sexual predators hard to understand.

Also, the foreigner (if it's the one recently in the news) was not arrrsted for molestation - he was arrested for having consensual sex with an underage (17 year old) prostitute. Underage because she's a prostitute...legal age if she has a note from her dad.

There needs to be an impartial investigation to

safegard the children...

Now all he has to do is go into monkhood and will be forgiven n forgotten, then he can continue molesting female believers there.

Just change his name to somchai, that way he blends in and nobody knows what he has done.

Best friend of Mrs from a few years back recently very upset. Her Husband just got a long jail sentence for abusing two girls at an Issan School. He's out on bail pending an appeal, swears he was set up to get rid of him but has been told an appeal is a waste of time. Be interesting to see what happens next.
