Buffing up old Civic

Featured Replies

I'm planning to sell our car soon and whereas it has a high mileage it is technically still ok but certainly not a beauty. Lots of scars and dents all over the place and also inside some work needs to be done.

It's a 2007 Honda Civic 2 liter, full option.

Can someone advise me where to go in Pattaya for:

  • full pain tjob, dent job for the entire car. There is pretty much no part that has no scratch. How much would that reasonably cost?
  • Driver seat is very worn out and should be replaced
  • The arm rest in the middle is totally worn out
  • The "leather" imitate on the driver door has suffered

The big question is....if I sell the car as it is I get X Baht. If I add the repairs would that make X + repairs + an easier sell / some extra money or just sell as it is?

Sell it as it is ,1 million baht then negotiate downwards.

Look at one2car.com and civic for an idea

As it's high mileage and really wants re-trimmimg as well as a total paint job it will not be worth a lot.

You must be looking at least 30K for a paint job and trimming 10K +

If, as you describe it's pretty tatty ...200K would be more like it I think.

just exploring it. Yes, the bottom end for 2007 Civics seems to be 250,000 - this is the 2.0 l model after all!

so yes, 40 to 50k investment is maybe a bit too much for the old lady.

I don't think it's worth to do a respray/trim job, unless you were planning on keeping it for 5 more years. You wouldn't get the money back on resale. I also have a 2.0 but ES model. It's in pretty good condition and cannot sell for even 230K I think. The 1.7 and 2.0 are close in value at this age. Look at the cars on one2car.com. I wonder how long they have sat on the lot.

When i sold my old city to a tent they didn't even look inside it; thy just quoted what they would give for it. Private buyers may be a bit more fussy. Just drop the price more to sell it faster.

Some on here have said they got a respray for 8,000-10,000 baht ! reupholster the seat + some interior for 2,000 more

wind 100,000KM off the clock  sell for top money. ?

Maybe with spray cans. Add some masking tape and make it the Eddie van Halen model...

Sent from my ASUS_Z00LD using Thaivisa Connect mobile app

i had a price to recover one x 3 seater seat = 3000 baht, maybe 2nd hand interior fittings as required, i would hawk it around the tents and see what they offer, i had a quote of around 20- 25,000 for a 2006 honda city with a few other peoples bumps.....
