PATTAYA: -- Pattaya tourist police impressed an Indian tourist who had his wallet stolen from a 7/11 counter.

Within twenty minutes they had arrested the thief, he had identified her and his wallet and money was back in his possession, reported Manager Online.

Vijayaraj Gnanamtham, 58 said: "The tourist police are very impressive and so fast! I want to thank them very much and everyone else for helping me".

Vijayaraj had been in a 7/11 in Soi Yamato near Beach Road at 9pm and had put his wallet on the counter. While he was momentarily distracted it was stolen and the thief left the store.

Employee Theerada Chulat,24, immediately alerted the tourist police who quickly examined the CCTV and swung into action.

In just minutes they arrested 38 year old Khon Kaen native Ketraporn Prayoonharn in a nearby soi.

Back in her room in PS Mansion they found the wallet in a wardrobe. The 1,500 baht and documents within it were all present and correct and reunited with their owner who did the obligatory pointing.

The north eastern thief was sent to Pattaya police station for prosecution.

All 7/11's have CCTV so they looked saw someone they knew, knew where she worked and went and picked her up.

I am impressed can I go back in my pram now mummy:passifier:

An additional service provided by the ever busy 7-11 of Thailand.

Why did the stupid girl not stay in her room with the wallet?

I imagine 500baht will secure her release, and she will do the same again in the very near future.

The above is a paid plod announcement. With only 1500 bahts I guess a reward for the 7/11 clerk for her fast action in calling the police is out of the question. Alright already yes they were quick on the draw in solving this one. I apologize the humor of  his statement just overwhelmed me for the moment it has passed.

Maybe you could bail her out and share with her your deviously clever thoughts on petty theft.

They had their lucky day.
Today they're buying lottery tickets....

Good job , I doubt other countries in the western world  could work that fast , even with CCTV at hand.  Too much bureaucracy.

Nice catch! Quick work. All good!

If the facts are true , then lets give credit where credit is due. That is impressive and would be tough to see repeated elsewhere. Good job on everyone!!

Good job!

So she went and took his wallet, ran usain bolt style to her room to dump the wallet with all its contents in it and then dashed out on the street again minutes later where she was spotted by police who had just watched a cctv clip off her about a minute before ?? :shock1:
