IMA_FARANG
If you are talking about becoming a BUDDHIST nun the first thing you should know is that in Thai Buddhism they do NOT ordain nuns and have not for many years. There rules say that only a ordained nun can ordain another nun, and the last nun who could have done the ceremony died many years ago.
ubonjoe
You will only be able to get a tourist visa. To get a non immigrant is only issued for a specific reason and you need to have supporting documents to apply for it.
PoorSucker
For extension of stay there is a rule for religious studies. 2.13 In the case of study of Buddhism or religious function: Permission will be granted for a period of not more than 1 year at a time. (1) The alien has obtained a temporary visa (NON-IM); (2) Confirmation has been issued by the National Buddhism Office or the National Buddhism Office of the Prime Minister’s Office or the Mahachulalongkorn University; and (3) Confirmation has been issued by the abbot of the temple where the applicant is studying or performing the religious function. Best option is to come here on a tourist visa and then covert it at immigration when you have the supporting paperwork.
