We have seen that you can pre-book online a taxi/minivan for between 3500 and 4000 baht. Travel time stated is about 4 hours. Is it worth waiting till we arrive at Surathani airport to haggle for a better price? Or will few drivers be willing to do this trip for a lower price? And what about the time - is 4 hours realistic? Flustered Posted February 16, 2017 Share Posted February 16, 2017 The cost is very reasonable. The taxi/minivan has to spend the whole day as he has to return so wont get any other fares. Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai in a decent cab is about 3,000 baht for the 3 hour drive. 4,000 baht is not a lot so go for it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
