February 21, 20179 yr Hello, I just came from Malaysia to take advantage of the free 60 day tourist visa. I live in Thailand, but needed to extend my visa. Upon getting my visa the next day I noticed i got 90 days, single entry tourist visa. Does this mean that my visa has the 30 days extension included already? Thank you
February 21, 20179 yr The visa is valid to use for entry for 3 months from the date of issue which is shown as the enter before date on the visa. When you enter the country you will get the 60 day entry the visa allows.
February 21, 20179 yr When you first enter Thailand you will get a 60 day permit to stay stamp in your passport. In the last week of that stay you may get a 30 day extension at your local immigration for a fee of 1900 Baht which added on to your original 60 day entry stamp can give you a total of 90 days stay in Thailand.
February 21, 20179 yr Thai visas differ from some other countries in that they do not specify the dates you can stay in the country. The visa is valid for 3 months (approx 90 days) from the issue date which means you have 3 months to make your one entry into the country. Whenever you enter during that 3 months you'll be granted permission to stay for 60 days. If you have already entered Thailand with the tourist visa and were given permission to stay for 90 days, it was a mistake. In this case you'd need to go to an immigration office to get it reduced to 60 days.
February 26, 20179 yr Author Thanks for your help guys. Upon further inspection i did get a 60 day entry stamp, and the 90 days were referring to the validity of the stamp.
