BANGKOK: -- The Department of Special Investigation will on Tuesday start live streaming with Facebook Live of the search of Wat Dhammakaya which is entering the sixth day.

DSI deputy spokesman Pol Maj Woranan Srilum said that the live streaming was intended to allow netizens see how the officials have been performing their duties without resorting to violence.

The search which was jointly conducted by DSI officials, police and military personnel was meant to look for Phra Dhammachayo, the former abbot of the temple, who is wanted on a series of charges, said the deputy spokesman, adding that he had asked temple administrators to convey to Dhammakaya followers the real objective of the search.

The DSI will provide a summary report of each day’s operation to the media so that the public will be kept abreast with the developments.

Regarding the 14 senior monks summoned by the DSI for interrogation, Pol. Maj Woranan said that the DSI has not issued arrest warrants against them although none of them have contacted the DSI.
