here is my case: My wife ( we are not married actualy) needs to go to france for 10 days

One of our kid is on her passport even though my kid has his own passport ( NOn immigrant O visa for kid and non immigrant B for my wife).

A friend of her told her that immigration at the airport will not let her leave without the kid who is on her passport??????

The friend was refused to go to singapore for a 2 days shopping for that same reason.

Loiks weird , i could not find any law on that.

IS this real?

if yes is there a solution?

Can i go to th eairport with her showing the kid get his own passport and visa and his as well on my own passport?

Amazing if it is true!!

I think its the same in all countries - the people on the passport have to travel together. Many countries now don't have children on parents passports for exactly this reason.

False of course i am french and am travelling a lot without my kids who are on my passport

And it seems this "law" only concerned women in thailand

precision : my wife is not thai but european

I believe the determining factor is whether they travelled INTO Thailand together using the mothers passport only.

If that is the case, then the system is updated with both names attached to that passport number - and naturally a red flag will occur should she try to leave alone.

If they came in on each their seperate passports there should not be a problem, but a copy of sons passport/arrival stamp/visa would be smart to bring just in case.

Cheers!

Presuming that the mother is French. then a trip to the French Embassy is in order, and take the kid off mothers passport. If the kid came in on her passport, it'll be as Firefan says ... a big problem. If she is not French, what is her nationality ?

Mother is french and the 2 kids ( only one is on mother passport) came in on their own VISA( non immigrant O) on own passport .

So if i understand could be ok .

But i need should ( or must) instead of could :o

Going to french embassy could be a solution. I suppose that if they issue a new passport they can put the non im B again on the new one?

YOu wrotte in all countries that's why i said that but not a problem :o

Even by asking immigration they dont answer with precision.

Hard sometimes to get a clear answer to a simple question

The Embassy will simply remove the child's name from mothers passport and note that the child now travels on its own passport.
