Rumour has it that in Savanakhet all you need is a marriage cert + some other docs but no need for proof of 400k in the bank.

Can anyone confirm this as I don't have the 400k in the bank?

 

Also I do intend to use my non imm O to apply for a work permit end July....and avoid applying for yet another tourist visa.

Not a rumour it a a fact. Been that way for several years now to get a multiple entry non-o visa based upon marriage.

Marriage certificate plus a copy, signed copies of your wife's house book registry and ID card. And 5000 baht for the fee.

No problem to get a work permit and work with a non-o visa based upon marriage. You can even use the income from working to meet the 40k requirement to apply for an extension of stay based upon marriage.
