BANGKOK, 1 March 2017 (NNT) - The government-appointed committee in charge of the promotion of reconciliation is ready to hear more opinions from people across the country.

The reconciliation subcommittee, chaired by Permanent Secretary of the Defense Ministry Gen. Chaicharn Changmonhkol, on Wednesday invited representatives from five political parties to discuss ways to restore peace and unity in the country.

Four parties showed up including the Thai Forest Land Reclamation Party, the People Power Network Party, the Cooperative Power Party and the Thai Rubber Party. The Mahachon Party declined the invitation due to its prior engagement.

So far, the subcommittee already met with 24 out of 26 active political parties in Thailand

The subcommittee is planning to expand its talks with more people across the country through collaboration with the Internal Security Operations Command and provincial governors during the next 30 days.
