The Department of Special Investigation today (Wednesday) pasted up an announcement declaring Klong Luang central market off-limits to monks and followers of Dhammakaya cult in a bid to prevent the market from being used as their rallying venue.

DSI deputy director-general Pol Col Songsak Raksaksakul said the new measure was intended to curb the activities of the supporters of the elusive former abbot of Wat Dhammakaya, Phra Dhammachayo, who is playing hide and seek with the officials.

He said that summonses had been issued to several core leaders of the protesting Dhammakaya followers to report to DSI officials for questioning, but only one of them turned himself in. He warned that arrest warrants would be issued if these core leaders refuse to show up.

One showed up truly amazing Thailand. The rest have more than likely joined the wily one. I love the word summonses its like an invitation to flee. I wonder how many summonses they issue before they got off of their derriere and make an attempt at an arrest.

The temple and its 15,000 or so inhabitants are becoming more and more isolated. The longer this farce carrys on the more stubborn both sides will get. The Abbot is not there, pull out and try to apprehend him another way.

The more the community in the temple compound is isolated from the world the more chance of things going wrong. Look at the Waco tragedy in America. Yes that is getting a bit carried away, but already there has been 2 deaths on the temple grounds since the seige began.
