Re entry permit

Recommended Posts

Am on a marriage extension in Thailand until november 2017, and going to the UK for 3 weeks in April. I have got a reentry permit from Immigration . Question is what is the procedure at the immigration section at the airport departing and arriving back, as opposed to that of being a normal tourist. Many thanks.

All the same, if you as you say already have the re-entry permit. Nothing to worry about. Please also not consider yourself as a tourist. You have the right visa for long stay in Thailand, which also make you much better looked at when passing Immigration at airport. Have a nice trip home. Cheers!

OP, after the Immigration Officer has stamped you back in to Thailand, check his endorsement before you leave the area just to make sure that he has put the correct "Admitted until" date, and not just given you 30 days - it has happened.

A re-entry permit is only valid as long as your extension is valid.

Therefore if your extension expires while you are out of the country, so does your re-entry permit.

On returning to Thailnd with a valid re-entry permit you should put the re-entry permit number in the space on your arrival card which asks you for your visa number.

Put your re-entry permit number there and write after it the word reentry.

Point that out to the immigration officer when you hand him or her your passport and arrival card when you enter the immigration queue on  your arrival card.

Don't assume he or she will simply see your re-entry permit, but actively point it out to the immigration officer when you go through the arrival queue area.

Be pro-active to make sure they get it correct.

Ultimately it is your responsibility to make sure immigration gets it correct.

You are a grown adult, so take action to get it done correctly.

If you are not sure ASK.
