Dhammachayo faces legal and monastic action: Prayut

Soldiers inspect the area around the Boonraksa Building in the Dhammakaya Temple compound yesterday. There are reports that a canal has just been dug near the building, possibly to block efforts to locate Phra Dhammchayo.

 

BANGKOK: --  PRIME Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha expects Phra Dhammachayo to face both legal and monastic action over his alleged offences.

 

“The National Buddhism Office and the Sangha Supreme Council are in the process of taking monastic action,” Prayut said yesterday. He did not elaborate on what measures the two organisations would take.

 

Phra Dhammachayo lost his high monastic rank several days ago, but he has yet to be defrocked.

 

The controversial honorary abbot of Dhammakaya Temple is facing arrest warrants for alleged money laundering and accepting stolen items.

The latest news I've seen is that if you block entry to the temple or do not follow the orders of the police or army you will liable for a 20,000 baht fine and up to a year in prison.

Seriously....this guy must be connected in so many ways that I cannot imagine...anyone with any common sense could handle this issue in a day...Thais are so worried not to offend him that he must have EVERYONE's balls in his fist.

PM reiterates call for former Dhammakaya abbot to submit to arrest

 

BANGKOK, 8 March 2017 (NNT) – The Prime Minister has reiterated a call for the former abbot of Dhammakaya Temple to submit to arrest, affirming all violators of the law must be prosecuted. 

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-ocha has assured that the government’s pursuit of Luang Por Dhammachaiyo has proceeded according to justice and the law and that use of Section 44 of the Interim Constitution is to facilitate authorities as the former temple abbot has resisted apprehension. 

Minister of Justice Suwaphan Tanyuwattana let on that the National Office of Buddhism has been contacted to take action now that Phra Dhammachaiyo is no longer a priest of rank. The Sangha Supreme Council of Thailand has also scheduled a meeting for March 10 to discuss the ongoing matter. 

Meanwhile, the Department of Special Investigations (DSI) has made known followers of Dhammakaya Temple have attempted to explain the presence of 200 liter fuel barrels on the temple’s grounds, saying they were merely to weigh down tents set up for shade. The DSI has yet to verify the claim and has dispatched agents to further investigate. 

The office has set up cameras along the entrance of Khlong Luang Central Market to monitor those entering the area. The cameras add to searches of bags to all entering. 

Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan asserted that the search of Dhammakaya Temple must continue while adding that a moat originally suspected of being dug for militaristic purposes is no longer likely to for such a strategy.

My guess he is on that airplane marked "Abbots On The Run" With the dough he has at his command I am sure it will make an unscheduled stop just about anyplace. 

The monks are like god or untouchable like this super doomer monk he will be cleared of everything and go back to get this spaceship to take off.

If he really wants to get compliance, he needs to add "pretty please with sugar on top".
