March 13, 20179 yr Changing from Work permit to retirement visa in May. What are the recent requirements for retirement visa
March 13, 20179 yr You would change the reason for your extension of stay (not a work permit) based upon working to retirement. You will need a termination letter from your employer stating the date your job ends to have your current extension cancelled. You would then apply for the new extension after it is cancelled. You could it on or a few days before the date on the termination letter. You will need 800k baht in a Thai bank for 3 months on the date you apply proven by a letter from your bank and your updated bank book or proof of 65k income proven by letter from embassy or a combination of the 2 totaling 800k baht.
March 13, 20179 yr hello, is 2 months in the bank not enough for first time users ; of money in the bank in Thailand, for retirement visa ?
March 13, 20179 yr The op is asking about a 12 month extension based on retirement. Not a Visa. As he already has an extension the requirement would be 3 months in the bank. Edited March 13, 20179 yr by Phuket Man
March 13, 20179 yr So if you have got 12 month extension based on retirement before, and got it without money in Thailand bank. methold, say you used letter from embassy to confirm you had enough money in your homeland to live here on. Then next time you would have to have the money here for 3 months in bank in Thailand next time you asked for extension based on retirement. Even if it is the first time you are using money in the bank in Thailand, for asking about a 12 month extension ? So it is only your first extension the money is aloud for only 2 months in bank ?

Immigration considers the 60 days for the first extension to be an extension of a 90 day entry from a non immigrant visa. That is why it is 60 days since they took into consideration that a person would not be able to enter the country with a visa and have enough time to open a bank account, deposit the money and meet the 3 month requirement.
