Student activist Jatupat “Pai Dao Din” Boonpatraraksa on Friday sat for exams on computer knowledge and skills, the final test before getting his bachelor’s degree in laws from Khon Kaen University, in a detention centre in the province.

Jatupat has been charged and remains in detention after sharing a BBC article deemed to be insulting to the monarchy last December. He was accused of violating the lese majeste and computer crime laws.

He was briefly released on bail, but his bail was revoked after investigators filed a complaint with the court alleging he had violated his bail condition.

His lawyers have filed several bail requests since then.

On Thursday, they made another attempt to allow Jatupat to appear for the exam outside the detention centre but failed, as the court rejected their request.

He is becoming educated.  That is threatening to the junta.  Where are his shoes ?

Geez. 3 people to watch one student. I wonder if it is to see his answers or if he was cheating. Either way OTT.

He doesn't need them, probably worked in construction in a previous life!

This being Thailand, I can see this photo subsequently being used as evidence against him in his "Computer Crimes" case.

Surreal and sad what this country is becoming.

The number of Political Prisoners this country has is disgusting. But when students have more backbone than politicians, it says a lot about the state of society.

The junta are thumbing their nose at the democratic world with their blatant abuse of human rights.

World, you need to kick up a stink. This is so wrong.

You may be right, but The World is preoccupied with a wacko in control of the largest nuclear arsenal!

Unfortunately it isn't going to happen. Forget it. They could beat this young man literally to death and we would be lucky if a couple of World eyebrows were raised by way of castlgation. They know this.
