Four Cambodian children drown

Four children aged between three and four have drowned in a pond at a water purification plant where the parents of two of them work. The tragedy happened on Monday in Prey Kabas district in Takeo province.
 

Police said the children lived in Angkor Borey district’s Ta Moung village and the parents of the two children were working at the plant in Prey Kabas district’s Svay Kea village. The villages are next to each other and the children’s homes are only a few hundred meters from the plant.
 

Angkor Borey district deputy police chief Chhoun Thy said the children visited their parents and played at the pond. “There were four children – two aged three and the other two aged four – one girl and three boys,” Mr. Thy said.
