BANGKOK: -- Several thousands of homes were damaged, and three were killed after summer storms hit 28 provinces, mostly in the Northeast.

 

The figures were compiled during the past two weeks and released today by the Department of  Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.

 

Mr Chatchai Promlert, director-general of the department,  said the figure were assessed from  March 14 until yesterday.

 

He said summer storms  hit 104 districts in 28 provinces, damaging about 6,000 houses.

 

He said all 17 provinces in the Northeast were hard hit by storms.

If you skipped the headlines and read the story, you'd see it wasn't provinces that were killed, it was houses.
