We need to mow down a jungle.

Hello All,

We have 5 rai of land in San Sai that’s completely overgrown. Some years ago we had a crew of guys hack it down.  Those guys are gone so we’re looking for a new team. We need to clear that 5 rai as homes are now being built around the perimeter and it could be a fire hazard during dry season. We’re actually thinking of hiring a Cat of some other heavy equipment to get the job done.

So anybody out there know where we can get a crew or where we can hire a bulldozer to mow down trees?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

We had 6 rai done just after we bought it.. Big back hoe is the way to go.

Took 2 days to clear properly but worth the money.

Then just do a controlled burning of the debris piles once dry.

Don't live near you, so can't suggest anyone but there must be plenty of big back hoes operating there so just ask.

Sure, because that won't affect the air quality for the rest of us... Thanks.   :post-4641-1156693976:

If there's already construction going on in neighboring plots, you could ask builder/foreman. They sometimes take side jobs if its convenient, and if not, may know someone else.

Also, if there's any worthwhile wood (even low quality), workers sometimes take this instead (or as supplement) for payment.

You can purchase a bio-char oven from Warm Heart Foundation for a reasonable price to burn the waste at a high temp, not create the dangerous smoke and make bio-char soil amendment.  A friend of mine bought one for 1500 baht that she uses for disposal of gardening waste from her yard and that of her neighbors.

You may need a bigger model, however.  http://warmheartworldwide.org/biochar-research-environment/

A slightly bigger model :)

5 rai of vegetation would take a very long time to process through one of those !!
