BANGKOK: -- More than 200 illegal Cambodian migrant workers were arrested on Sunday on a train from Bangkok bound for Aranyaprathet in Sa Kaeo as they travelled back to their home country to celebrate the Songkran Festival.

The migrants, 112 men and 92 women, reportedly travelled openly on public transportation because they wanted to be apprehended and repatriated by authorities so they did not have pay travel expenses.

Now, that's really smart! :stoner:

Smart by the Cambodians, but not so by the Thais. They were on their way home already.

Now they are picked up, taken to immigration, housed, fed and then sent home, all costing lots of money.

Would have been smarter to let them stay on the train. Most of them will be back in two weeks anyway.
