BANGKOK: -- The Ministry of Transport estimates that more than 35.6 million Thai people will be making more than 521,996 travel trips nationwide during the upcoming Songkran festival.

The high travel trips are more than a 75% increase over last year’s Songkran holidays, it said.

It also said starting from 1.00 am in the morning of April 11 up to midnight of April 18, the Department of Highways along with the Expressway and Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand will allow motorists to use Motorway Number 9 or Kanchanapisek ring road, and Motorway Number 9, or Bangkok-Chonburi tollway, and the Burapha Withee Expressway for free.

? Absolutely no idea what this means.

300 km bumper to bumper up north(east).

That's "fun".

A handful of seats remaining on flights out of BKK (to KKC) on April 13 (for 3000+ Baht oneway). 4 of 7 flights completely full.

And I will be sitting peacefully on my own balcony watching them crash head on into each other!!

Exactly why i will be doing the same as i have for the last ten years....staying at home with peace and quiet in house and garden !
