Hi People

I’m in need of advise.

I’ll keep this short and sweet..

I want to go to Thailand on a OA visa for a year or more..

Got the funds..

Not sick..

Over 50..

The problem is I have a criminal record !!

1 conviction for criminal damage over 3o years ago..

Small fine nothing more.

Nothing since .. not even a speeding fine.. I contacted the

the company used to provide a police check ..

Acro Criminal Records .. they said it will show up !!

So.. will this stop me getting the visa in the UK ?

I’ve been ringing the Thai Embassy for 3 days .. no answer.

If this will count against me please advise ( in detail .. I’m a

Numpty ) how I can go to Thailand for a year +

Cheers in advance

I thought a criminal record  was a prerequisite to come to Thailand, Pattaya anyway,

does your record not get expunged after all that time,30 years ago is a long time.

I would not worry about it,if they dont ask, dont tell.

Moving to the VISAS FOR THAILAND FORUM

Mac

get a single entry non immigrant 'O' , and a yearly extension in Thailand - no police checks required

I suggest you simply apply for a Disclosure and Criminal Record Basic Disclosure Certificate (https://www.mygov.scot/basic-disclosure/). This costs 25 pounds and supposedly is normally provided within two weeks. I doubt very much that a criminal damage conviction from many years ago will show up.
