snoop1130
Are they kidding? After banning vendors across city, BMA to co-host Bangkok Street Food Festival in June By Coconuts Bangkok Photo: Laurel Tuohy/Coconuts The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) have just shockingly announced that they will co-host a Bangkok Street Food Festival in June. We’re not sure why. The BMA is planning to spend the entire year removing and restricting street food from all the city’s major streets. So, what’s to celebrate? After removing vendors from Siam Square, Pratunam, Tha Prachan, Silom, Ekkamai, Thong Lor and Phra Khanong, the TAT and BMA plan to hold Bangkok Street Food Festival 2017 in June since Bangkok has been named by CNN as one of the top street food cities in the world. SiamBeast
Another perfect example of Thai Logic. We all want to street food to stay, so do Thais, so this rule will pretty much be swept under the rug. I just got pad thai from my usual street vendors who said she didn't give a damn about the rule. berybert
I do hope the Thai street food vendors totally ignore this festival. Show the fools up for what they are.

Emster23
I thought this was a mostly Buddhist country, yet seem to be following Bible advice "Don't let your right hand know what your left hand is doing". Or was left know right? Whatever.....
cunningstunt
Well considering they did a back flip and are now saying side sois will be allowed to operate so why not have the street food festival? Side sois are streets.

jaiyen
If they ban street food where will the working Thais buy their food for the day ? These stalls are essential to the workers. No restaurants open early morning.
