ubonr1971
I cannot apply for thai residency as my teaching income is currently below the 40k per month requirement. My wife is a dentist. If we open a clinic where I form a company and employ the correct amount of thai nationals etc. Then if I draw an income greater than 40k a month can I then apply for thai residency - if I satisfy all other requirements? thanks
ubonjoe
You would need a work permit. The 40k baht income would be enough to apply for an extension of stay based upon marriage which you would be proven by showing tax payments. To apply for permanent residency you would need at least 50k baht income. Full list of required documents are here. http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/doc/residence/residence_th_sponser_en.pdf You could apply for citizenship with only 40k baht income.
