A 2-metre long cobra caught in a toilet seat

Rescue workers on Saturday caught a two-metre cobra from the toilet seat in a house in Pan Thong district of Chon Buri.

The rescue workers from a foundation were alerted by Ms Tanyarat Youngsook who said she went into the toilet in her parents’ home in Tambon Pan Thong and found water in the toilet murky.

So she flushed the toilet with water and, to her shock, a snake emerged, prompting her to scream for help as she sprinted out of the toilet.

Crawled up through the pipes?

I've often wondered how snakes occasionally get into toilets, as surely the incoming water pipe comes from a water tank - and the evacuating pipe goes into a septic tank?

Where is the 'weak link' that allows snakes access?

Asking purely because finding a snake in the toilet doesn't bear thinking about :shock1:!

A simple check valve on the outlet pipe from the toilet would do! We used to have problems with rats getting in the same way.

Put a siphon lock on  the smaller shower and bathroom drains, the bad smell will disappear and it'll be more difficult for rats, snakes and cockroaches to get in.

Any authorized contractor should loose his license if these installations aren't included in his work. Problem is that no license is needed!

As a VERY non-practical person, I've no idea what you're going on about , but agree 100% that finding someone that 'knows their stuff' in these matters is very difficult .
