His salary was more than 160,000 a month. He left because he was offered a better deal by another hotel. 160,000 isn't really that great a salary. It's OK, but as a top chef you should expect more. Depends where their home country is. You pay employees based on cost of living, and how much money they can generate for you. A top chef can earn you millions, so you should pay them accordingly. I had no idea a chef in Bangkok can make this kind of money. So they make a lot more than they do in Scandinavia for example..hmm I guess Bangkok should be a paradise for chefs then?
