Govt not canceling 30-baht health care program: NHSO

BANGKOK, 28 April 2017 (NNT) – The government is not canceling the 30-baht health care program but instead increasing the health care benefits, said National Health Security Office (NHSO) spokesman Attaporn Limpanyalert.

He dismissed rumors that the national health security program, or the 30-baht scheme, has been canceled and insisted the general public may continue to receive medical treatments under this scheme as usual.

The NHSO has been working with the Ministry of Public Health to inform health care providers that the program will be continued as normal.

The government recently approved more health security budget for fiscal 2018, adding 87.45 baht more per capita to allow for an increase in health care benefits.
