Student Visa questions

I am planning to attend Rangsit university this fall, I had a couple of questions. It says that in order to keep the education visa you have to take 15 hours per week. What is the equivalent of this in American colleges? 15 credits, or something else. 15 seems like a lot so I am not sure.

 

Additionally, is it possible for me to renew my visa extension during the last month of the semester to be able to have a couple of months after the semester to try and figure out what to do next?

I think it is 15 hours of actual time in a classroom per week. That is what they use for informal schools (8 hours required)  such as language schools to get extensions.

The extension will for the length of your coursed of study. If not attending classes technically the extension is no longer valid.
