Deputy Police Chief files counter charges after network claims his weir is illegal

NAKHON RATCHASIMA, 9 May 2017 (NNT) – The Deputy Chief of the Royal Thai Police has assured the construction of a weir in Pakchong district of Nakhon Ratchasima was legal and beneficial to the public and revealed he will press charges against Weera Somkwamkid and his group for defaming the project.

Head of the People’s Freedom Protection Group and Secretary-General of the People’s Network against Corruption Weera Somkwamkid earlier submitted land deeds and aerial photos as part of a case against Deputy National Police Chief Pol Gen Sriwara Rangsibhramnakul and his involvement in the construction of a weir in a residential area of Pakchong.

The deputy police head has now asserted the structure does not encroach on any land and was built on a plot passed down by his family with its access road approved by local authorities. He also noted that the weir, built in 1968, has helped to protect the local area from numerous disasters. The local administration has even received approval to build more such weirs in the area to bolster safety.

Pol Gen Sriwara has now filed charges against Weera and his network for defamation and accusing a state authority, pointing out his moves have tarnished the image of the Royal Thai Police.

Yes it is laughable, tarnishing the image of the RTP.

They are doing a very good job of that themselves, without outside help.:cheesy:

Where is the weir Weera objects to?

On his own land?

And can a person build some obstruction to a river freely, even if it is on his own land?

Brave of the man to take on a Police Chief, who we all know is above any laws, well above.

Counter charge of DEFAMATION by any Chance?

The amount of times, I could consider filing a complaint of DEFAMATION against unjust treatment here, would make me rich.
