Bride killed on the way to bridal house

BANGKOK: -- The car of a newly-wedded couple was cut into two parts in a road accident, killing the bride and severely injuring the groom.

The accident happened at 6 pm on a road in Bangkok's Lat Krabang district.

Police learnt from the couple's relatives that were married at noon and took part in a reception party in Chalong Krung area and left the restaurant at 5:30 pm for the bridal house in Nong Chok district.

But when they arrived at the accident scene, a motorcycle cut the bow of the car carrying the couple and the bride's relatives, causing the car driver to make a sudden turn and hit against a power pole on the road island.

The car also crossed the island and was hit and cut into two parts by a speeding pick-up truck.

Police said the bride, Siriporn Chanthuek, 19, and her two relatives were killed at the scene.

The groom, Pratya Nirandorn, 19, was severely injured. His left ankle was cut off.

Tragic waste of young lives. Although the article doesnt say, reading between the lines, to me, it does sound this was a combination of:

1. Intoxicated driver of the bride/grooms car (poor, slow and overreacted judgement)

2. Irresponsible and blase motorsai riders with the ' YOU get out of my way because I am going here and ###### the consequences attitude' (I wonder if the motorsai even bothered to stop?) and

3. Irresponsible speeding pickup driver (Nothing ahead - I'll go at break neck speed)

Hapens everywhere....................

That's really sad.

Honestly, I could do without seeing the photos. :o

I got into a few big arguements with my editor over that years ago. My arguement is that a picture of some kid scattered across the pavement makes alot stronger statement than a thousand MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) slogans. Censoring the photos just makes killing someone while driving drunk easier for people to accept.

You are right - but it also satisfies ghouls at the same time.

Although you can read between the lines - nothing in the article mentions alcohol.

strangely...the photos posted and the caption below seem to be talking about 2 very different incidents!, and NEITHER are of the scene described in OP.

sad news all the same :o

Sad sad sad....

Lately at Rama 3 there are those kiddos doing motorsai racing.

It seems that the more reckless manouvres they make the more populair they get.

If it was not that I stepped on my breaks, for sure one of them would have ended up under my car.

Last month indeed one of them had an accident and was bleeding badly.

The whole group looking at him and then some of them decided it was racing time again.

One of them was really driving fast while cutting cars left and right almost causing another accident.

Do those kids want to die ore something or do they just like to cause accidents?

To break or not to break is the question on my mind now....
