BANGKOK: -- New regulations introduced this month aim to give consumers a fairer deal with online purchases.

The Thai authorities are scrambling to keep up with the massive amount of business done in places such as Facebook, the Line application and Instagram.

Regulations approved on the 17th of this month and coming into effect from next week will allow authorities to fine online traders up to 10,000 baht for not advertising their prices clearly.

The fines also apply to those not displaying quantities and specifications of products sold online and are designed to protect the consumer from unscrupulous traders online, reported Thai Rath.

On all my websites I don't display the quantity I have in stock of a product, as it's none of their business !!!

Air Asia's in trouble then...

Excellent!  I'm fed-up with sourcing something on a website, only to see, "Call us for best price" , or words to that effect.  About time somebody got a grip of the situation.

Its about the quantity you get buying stuff at a certain promoted price. Some people advertise with a pictures of 2, 3 or even 10 products , with a price next to it. Suggesting that you will get 10 products for one price....

Another stupid low that they won't be able to enforce.

90% people selling online did not register and do not pay any tax, how these ridiculous people could expect to be able to do anything when they cannot even control this ?
