webfact
Hospital to help dead patient’s family By The Nation Aranyaprathet Hospital will provide assistance to the family of a young woman who died after being given a painkiller injection at the hospital in Sa Kaew, its director said on Wednesday. Dr Rachet Cherngphanom made the pledge while attending the funeral of Nanthawan Chantra, the 20-year-old mother of a two-year-old girl. Rachet said “remedial measures” would be provided to her family in accordance with National Health Security Office regulations. Nanthawan had been admitted to the hospital on Tuesday evening suffering stomach pain and was given two painkiller shots. She had a seizure but recovered, was given another injection, and then had a fatal seizure. Her mother, Phee Kuchita, claimed Nanthawan didn’t want the third shot, but the attending nurse insisted it would help improve her condition. Nanthawan was pronounced dead after the medical team spent 90 minutes trying to resuscitate her. Offering condolences to the family, Rachet said the case was puzzling because Nanthawan had no record of medicine allergies and was suffering only normal stomach pain, while the injection she received was a commonly used painkiller. lvr181
".....Rachet said the case was puzzling because Nanthawan had no record of medicine allergies and was suffering only normal stomach pain...." My italics. And the post mortem result shows..........? This is a hospital, don't they want to know what went wrong? A conspiracy theorist might say this is just a cover up!
