Drugs found in raid despite bid to cover smell with durian fruit

An alleged methamphetamine pusher in Samut Prakan was arrested on Friday although he tried to put ripe durian fruit around his room to cover the smell of the drug.

 

District officials and police raided the house of Wisut Boonmee, 27, in Tambon Laem Fapha after a tip-off that he was selling the drug to youths in the neighbourhood.

 

Officials found 377 methamphetamine pills.

 

Several officials, who dislike the strong smell of the so-called king of fruits, had to leave the room after they found a number of durian fruit left uncovered in the house.

 

The man said that he hoped the smell of the durian would cover the smell of the drug when he repackaged them for sale.

 

He said he bought the drug on May 12.
