The chief of the special police 191 has responded to an online clip that showed an altercation between a policeman in his force and a member of the public.

The police had stopped a man who had a siren blaring in his car. But rather than calm the situation it escalated into a slanging match as the driver used foul language and challenged the cop to a fight.

Yesterday Surachet Hakpan head of 191 spoke to the cop involved, Bunma Chupsamrit. He said after that he had told his officer that he was within his right to stop someone for using a siren but reminded him that policemen should behave appropriately at all times, despite experiencing pressure and provocation.

He said cops should explain the law and calm situations and avoid any behavior that may escalate difficult situations.

But after he had given his underling the dressing down in private he said that the force would call in the man in the video who had driven the car, used the siren and threatened his officer.

He could be on the end of a charge of insulting the force, reported Daily News.

Thai cops do it to themselves ten times a day - self-serving, self-protecting.

What did he wrap them in, bandages?

surely 'insulting the force' is not criminal

I think the Cop showed restraint ,anywhere else the angry guy,

might have been shot or at least tasered,or cs gassed, who offers

to fight a Cop,when he has the gun !.

That's the best he could propose? How about causing a public nuisance, to start? Then threatening a member of RTP?
