A policeman at the Na Jomtien station did not bat an eyelid when faced with the problem of a snake in his pick-up truck.

Officer Amorn Nawaree had gone to his private Isuzu D-Max to get something and seen a warning note under the wiper.

It said to take care because a snake had been seen slithering into the engine compartment of the vehicle.

Amorn opened up the hood and saw the python. He called a policeman friend who came to help him extricate the serpent.

No professional snake catchers were required on this occasion!

It only took a few minutes before the snake, that was two to three meters in length, was free and thereafter returned to nature.

The station is near a wooded area and it is thought the creature was sheltering after several days of heavy rain.
