A goldminer named Jasper owned a mine high in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. He employed three miners to help him with his operation--A brawny Russian named Boris, a hardworking Irishman named Paddy, and a slight Chinaman named Chang.

One day, Jasper called his group together and told them that he needed to go into the nearest town to buy supplies... Because of the remoteness of his mine, he would be gone about a week. So he told them.....

"Men, I want you to continue working hard just as if I were here. Boris, you will work in the mine with your pick axe breaking the stones loose from the walls. Paddy, you will load the stones into the ore cart, and take them to the surface. Mr. Chang, you will be in charge of supplies."

"Does everyone understand his job? Boris, you break loose the rock. Paddy, you bring the rock to the surface and Mr. Chang, you are in charge of supplies."

Each man nodded that he understood.

A week later Jasper returned from town to find Boris and Paddy lying under a tree, listless and apparently almost completely dehydrated. "What is gong on?", demanded Jasper.

Boris, his voice no more than a whisper, answered. Boss, we haven't had any food and almost no water in the entire time that you have been gone. We are too weak to continue working." "But what about Mr. Chang?, Jasper asked. "He was in charge of supplies" Boris rasped, "the last time I saw him, he was down in the mine shaft," .

So Jasper took off into the mine shaft in search of Mr. Chang. About 50 meters into the shaft, Mr. Chang waring a halloween mask and waving his arms frantically jumped out from behind a rock shouting, "SUPPLIES, SUPPLIES!!!
