A motorcycle taxi driver made a citizen's arrest outside Central Beach in Pattaya on Tuesday after two men stole a British tourist's phone.

It was all smiles yesterday at Pattaya police station as local chief Apichai Krobpetch presented Seksan Lormkan, 25, with a reward.

Seksan had held onto one of the robbers who is now in custody.

Korawit Sunanta from Chiang Mai admitted stealing from 68 year old Peter Dickinson who sent a friend to the police station yesterday to do the important pointing.

Korawit was the motorcycle getaway driver while his mate Bancha Yotyingyong, 30, picked the tourist's pocket on a baht bus.

Bancha got away but an arrest is expected soon as a warrant has been issued.

Well done by the motorcycle taxi driver.

The robber looks like a typical drug abuser.

Hope he go straight to jail.

Yes , well done motorcy dude !!

Why would an arrest be expected just because a warrant has been issued.

The police here have special powers.....very special powers :clap2:

The taxi driver was offered a job by the police but he declined, saying, 'I wouldn't fit in.'

Good on the moto taxi dude!

Most every single one I've ever met are really nice guys.

Who else recalls this one?

another fine example for "taking the law into your own hands" in a lawless city with no visible police force.

where is the red line?

Would a motorbike pursuit ending up with a fatal accident be considered heroism?

However, I have to admit I am speechless to this man's courage!
