Fire rips through Chonburi truck weighing station - but durians saved!

Fire ripped through three rooms made of containers at a Chonburi truck weighing station belonging to the Highways department yesterday morning.

It took firemen 45 minutes to bring the blaze under control at the station in Klong Ru sub-district on the Bang Na - Trat highway leading into Bangkok.

No one was hurt in the blaze believed to have been caused by a short circuit in one of the rooms.

Thai Rath reported there was a fun aspect to the incident when two highway police officers emerged from the blaze and were caught on video "saving" two durians from the inferno.

"We've saved the lives of two durian", exclaimed one playful officer.

So the durians were saved, so what's the problem? 

overweight fines, shoddy wiring,  but who gives a <deleted> ....  the durians are ok ...

Thank God, the Durians were saved.Can one even imagine what life would be like, without a Durian or two? Oh! the wiring, hadn't even thought about that.

Burned Durian is a bit like smelling a burned diaper with a full load in it.
