BANGKOK: -- The cabinet on Tuesday approved the Transport Ministry’s plan to raise 44.8 billion baht through Thailand Future Fund to finance the construction of two expressway routes – Rama III-Dao Khanong ringroad and third phase of Kasetnavamin expressway.

Transport Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisit said the Finance Ministry would be responsible for raising fund and the Transport Ministry would present full details of the project to the cabinet in the next two weeks.

He said that the Expressway and Rapid Transit Authority would also invest in the project with revenues earned from fares collected from motorists using the Ram-inthra-Art Narong and Bang Na-Chon Buri expressways.

Construction costs of Rama III-Dao Khanong ringroad and Kasetnavamin expressway were estimated at 30 billion baht and 14 billion baht respectively.
