By The Nation

PHITSANULOK: -- A man and a teenage girl who shipped marijuana to their clients via private parcel post for about a year, have been arrested. They earned about Bt400,000 a month.

The arrest of Montree Piyaphan, 30, and Ae (real name withheld), 17, was announced at a press conference at the Provincial Police Bureau 6 by the bureau deputy chief, Pol Maj Gen Chavalit Charnvej, on Thursday.

Phitsanulok police were alerted by Chon Buri police that parcels of marijuana were being mailed from their district.

Police learned that Montree used a private post office in Tambon Plaichumpol in Mueang district to send parcels every month.

Police arrested Montree at the private post office on Tuesday when he was about to send 12 parcels.

Chavalit said Montree admitting that he has been selling between 150kgs to 200kgs of marijuana a month for between Bt6,000 and Bt8,000 per kilogram. He said he bought the drug from a seller in a northeastern province for Bt4,000kg.

He said he earned about Bt5 million from selling the drug for a year and most of clients are in the southern provinces which have tourist beaches.

most of the parcels were sent to the south where they have tourist beaches! did he really say that or did the police jst add that in at the end 555 those pesky tourists causing trouble again . . .

Very ballsy.
Got lazy on deliveries and decided to go postal. I wonder whether they attempted to disguise their packages with coffee or something or just assumed the lazy postal workers wouldn't suspect anything?

They should've opened a coffee company first.

Bugger, i will never use DHL,or UPS again.

  Did they use EMS?

Time to legalise this product.

The tax revenues would be very decent indeed.

Did they give up the address book? A few more arrests imminent, perhaps.
