A package containing four M67 grenades was returned to sender – to a parcel delivery service shop in Bangkok’s Bang Khen district –prompting astonished staff members to alert police.

Just after 1pm on Friday, police officers along with an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team inspected the package at the Kerry Express Bang Khen branch on inbound Paholyothin Road.

They found four grenades with 5-10 metre killing radius inside the box and secured them for further inspection.

The box was sent by a Bangkok man named Isarapong (last name withheld), who provided no postal address on the box, to the recipient identified only as “Max” who stayed at a house in Chon Buri’s Phanat Nikhom district.

Shop staff member Ratchanikorn Sujipratch, 37, said the package was sent off on May 6 but after it was returned to sender, the shop stored it pending contact from either the sender or the recipient.

As staff members cleared unclaimed boxes, they were shocked to find the grenades inside the package.

Guess what the senders is an army officer. I wonder how they move the pipe bombs around, by post ?

Are you guessing or do you have some form of evidence?

Staff investigated the returned parcel...ie, opened it to see what could be pinched?

Did the package have a return address?

If the answer is no, staff were correct in opening it, to see if there were clues as to the owner.

If the answer is yes then the staff are a bunch of thieves.

No "if" about it.

" The box was sent by a Bangkok man named Isarapong (last name withheld), who provided no postal address on the box"

He'd hardly send it without a delivery address.

I think that means no postal return address.
