December 27, 200619 yr so sorry if i am asking a question that has been posted but i couldn't find a definitive answer in my search. so if i marry a thai & go to neighboring country for non-imm visa (for marriage) but i don't necessarily have the funds as stipulated in the 1 year visa regs... is it enough or good to just do runs to the border every 90 days because i haven't asked for or applied for the 1 year visa (extension)? this is all kinda confusing with all the new regs & postings i am not sure. i am ok with visa runs every 90 days as i think that used to be ok for marriage visas if you didn't want to tie up any money. edit: title was meant to read '90 day border runs married to thai' Edited December 27, 200619 yr by nanker
December 27, 200619 yr It is OK if you can obtain a multi entry non immigrant visa. As of now very few places outside of your home country are likely to issue them. The new regs do not tie up any money - you have to prove family income of 40k per month.
December 27, 200619 yr Author thank you for the quick reply. so if i marry thai & get marriage visa from thai embassy in my home country... multi visa is that still possible? if so is the 90 day visa run thing still ok to do if you don't meet the monetary requirements as laid out by thai immigration for the 1 year non-imm visa? The new regs do not tie up any money - you have to prove family income of 40k per month. i can get close but some months may be a little lower & some months a little higher than the 40K per month requirement due to investments.
December 28, 200619 yr A lot will depend on what your embassy will accept as proof of income. If you can dcoument an average 40K a month over the year, I do not see why that should not suffice, but then I am not am immigration officer.

There is currently no proof of income for a multi entry non "O" that is issued in your home country. The 90 day visa run is fine.
