Knock out drug for first dog transport?

Featured Replies

Hi there

We have a fairly large dog.....originally just followed us and our own dog, since deceased RIP, home......to deal with who is adorable and affectionate, but who has a fear reaction and can briefly snap at a hand from a stranger if it comes to him too quickly and who has become territorial and has recently had trouble with other dogs near his home a couple of times. He adored and looked up to our dog, has  always been OK with other dogs out walking, but he needs moving from where he lives and he has been getting fed by a kind person since we moved.

The first step is for him to be neutered and decrease the territoriality, and he will soon need moving anyway from the communal place he has stayed the last couple of years.......with the idea of finding the right owner..

He is affectionate to his friends, neutral to others,  eats politely, walks out well, OK with cats, and would be an ideal loving companion and guard dog for someone with a walled residence.

Anyway as far as I know he's never been in a car and I'm wondering if we can manage to get him in one.....I think a problem first time at least.

Anyone know anything about a knockout drug so he could just be carried to the car and into see the vet or wherever?

Is it a good idea?

Thanks!

(and if anyone knows a home please say :)....he's a beauty......we've managed to give him a chance at a life the last couple of years but have moved to somewhere impossible to keep a dog. Can you give him a chance at life too?)
