Making films about trafficking in ASEAN

Cambodian youngsters are being invited to take part in a video contest on the theme “Asean Against Trafficking - Humans Are Not For Sale”.  The Cambodia Human Rights Committee (CHRC) has announced its support for the Asean Youth Video Competition, which aims to raise public awareness on the subject, in line with the ASEAN Human Rights Declaration (AHRD) and ASEAN Convention Against Trafficking in Persons, Especially Woman and Children.


Sreang Chenda, a member of the United Nations’ Human Right Committee, says the competition is a good opportunity for Cambodian youth to showcase their video talents internationally. “We are looking for youngsters here to compete against others in Asean,” he said. 


“So I’m asking all youth in Cambodia to create videos related to human trafficking, especially of women and children. “It’s a great topic for them to learn about trafficking in relation to human rights.”
